handclapmovement: I have to admit that it was pretty cool to get an email from a label on the other side of the world, in Indonesia. Distinct Recordings has made aware of Polka Wars, who are based out of Jakarta, Indonesia. Their single “Coraline” is a towering first listen, as the vocals remind me of Sameer of Young The Giant. Large, dramatic backgrounds (horns included) set to impressive vox is a winner in my book. I can’t wait until their debut EP is ready. As I don’t know many other bands in this region, I would say they are the promising new act out of Jakarta. Coraline by polkawarsmusic
